Active HOME Week and Work for Thursday 7th May and Friday 8th May

Hi everyone,
I hope you all enjoyed the break!

  • As mentioned in my video last Friday, this week is Active HOME Week, read more about it by CLICKING HERE!

Let me know on Seesaw if you've done anything as part of Active HOME Week!!

Here are a few suggestions for activities for Thursday and Friday, remember, as usual, these are all just suggestions, whatever you wish to do or do not wish to do is fully up to you!

  • We are moving onto a new topic for Maths next week, if anyone would like to give Long Multiplication another couple of tries before then, you can give these worksheets a go:

Worksheet One
Worksheet Two

Mr Boyle gave out art supplies last Friday to those who wanted them, if anyone wants to create an art piece for the Scoil Cholmcille 'Virtual Art Exhibition' Video we are making, you can email a photo of your artwork to Mr Boyle, you can give me a sneak peek if you want by sending me a photo on Seesaw!! 😁 Some children have sent photos of their artwork already and they look amazing! 🎨🖌️✏️✂️

  • I'd recommend continuing with any reading you're doing and continuing to revise  multiplication tables CLICK HERE FOR AN ONLINE GAME TO PRACTISE YOUR MULTIPLICATION TABLES, we've done loads of learning and revising of tables in 3rd and 4th class, so it's up to you to decide what tables you need to work on! You can send me a note on Seesaw to give me an update on what you've been reading!
You could always make a video giving a review of what you've read, or even an update on the other activities you've been getting up to, it's a nice activity for practising your oral language skills!!

Coding Ireland & Scratch

  • Finally, for any children interested in computers and/or coding, Coding Ireland has free lessons for children (1st - 3rd class) & (4th - 6th class). You can have a look at the beginner lessons by CLICKING HERE
  • You can also take part in their Weekly Beginner Challenge where it teaches you how to do cool little coding projects that can be entered into weekly competitions where you can win a Microbit Circuit Board Computer. (Advanced Weekly Challenge is also an option!) Challenge details can be found by CLICKING HERE, as well as video tutorials for children new to coding! Let me know if you give it a try, good luck!! 😊🤞🏼
  • Set up a Scratch account by CLICKING HERE

In summary, some ideas for Thursday 7th & Friday 8th:
You do not need to do any of the above, but if you decide to, you can let me know what you tried on Seesaw!

If you have any questions you can ask me on Seesaw!
Talk to you all soon

Ms Cormican  🌻
